Juan Manuel Rois has a professional degree from the School of Architecture, Planning and Design of The National University of Rosario. He received his post-professional Master of Architecture with Concentration in Landscape Urbanism from UIC, and was awarded the Oberdick Fellowship from the Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning of The University of Michigan.
As an initial professional practice in his hometown, working with Marcelo Villafañe, he designed and built various residential and commercial projects and participated in big scale awarded competitions, including the first prize at the National Competition for the Central Coast Area of Rosario. Besides this collaboration, Rois pursued his independent practice through competitions for young architects, including the First Prize for the Arquitectónica Foundation Fellowship. The work of those initial years has been published and exhibited in national and international architectural magazines.
Currently, he maintains an awarded Argentinean-based practice, associated with Diego Arraigada. Recent awards include the second prize at the International Ideas Competition for the Metropolitan Park of the Rosario-Victoria Bridge and the third prize for the National Competition for the San Fernando Riverfront.
